Sorry for the absence of an announcement or update, but a research project abruptly took me to New York City for a couple of days. When you've been waiting a long time for documents from the federal government -- and suddenly you get a call saying "The records you requested have arrived" -- you do not delay in taking advantage of such an arrangement. So, I hopped on a New Jersey Transit train into Manhattan, stayed with a relative overnight (who conveniently lives in midtown with a spectacular picture-window view of the Empire State Building and other landmarks), and made my way to the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in the morning (It is, in fact, the very buldfing beyond me in the above photo, which was taken earlier this year by my darling bride, Jennifer)).
As this project is unrelated to U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor, unfortunately I cannot announce the imminent publishing of breaking FOIA-related news. On the other hand, if you like my reporting, you may like the creative nonfiction and other works I produce even more. A book in the works that I hope will blow away the reading public. Check out my other blog -- Jersey Sandstorm -- for occasional information about my other creative endeavors.
In the meantime, the Monitor will be back in action this Monday, July 11.
